I have two wage garnishments by the same company, both are taken out of my check. This was ordered by the courts. These were ordered 11-15-06 and have not missed one payment, on 10/30/09 they took out 500.00 from payroll check and also placed a lien of 840.04 on my checking account. I have not recieved any mail from them, nor the court. PLEASE HELP are they able to due this? Needless to say this is my EX-HUSBANDS judgment but because I have a study income they come after me and he pay's nonething.. Thank you Kim
I suppose this was ordered by the courts when you were married?

If not, the only thing I can think of is you benefited from the purchase of what ever it is has the lien.

I can't say whether or not they have a right to put the lien on your checking account. You should pull out the original agreement and review it in depth. I think that is what would tell you whether or not they have the right.
