Medicaid and Quitclaim deeds

Posted on: 02nd Jul, 2012 05:42 am
my mom has been disabled for many years and lives alone. she has been on medicaid for many years. this was to help with what medicare did not pay. she is in the low income bracket. she recently had a quit claim deed giving the property to me and a living trust drawn up. is this property eligible for medicaid reimbursement even though she is not in a nursing home?
Hi Anne!

Welcome to forums!

If she is not in the nursing home, then I don't think the property should be taken away by Medicaid. Nevertheless, an attorney well versed with the Medicaid laws of your state will be able to guide you better in this regard.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
