I am about to close on a short sale, and the house needs to be up to code before I can live in there. Now can i move my stuff into the garage while the house is being up to code? Or do I have to wait until it is up to code to do anything?

As far as I know, once you close in on the property, you would be able to move in your stuffs. However, for further advice, you can have a word with your real estate attorney.
