will my grandfather grandchild have to buy out his aunts and uncles after his grandfather die?

Hi my grandfather would like to take his wife name off his deed, she has been dead for 20 years now could he do it? How long is the statue of claiming property? My grandfather married my grandmother who had six kids prior to them getting married and together my grandfather and grandmother had 6 kids. My grandfather willed his house to one of his grandchildren but did not know if they would have to fight their aunts and uncles- children of my grandmother for the house because her name is on the deed. But my grandfather brought the house. Are they entitled to anything because they are her children? He does not want his grandchild to have to fight anyone or get put in debt in order to buy them out.
How could he keep the other children from coming in and taking away the house or making his grandchild buy them out?
Welcome mrsarso,

Your grandfather will have to file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office in order to get it transferred in his name. As your grandmother's name is on the property deed, her heirs will have the rights to claim her share of the property. It will be difficult for him to keep her children from coming after the property.
