I have inherited a house with two sisters

Posted on: 11th Jan, 2009 01:06 pm
We have already used an atty to have the estate put into all 3 of our names for a house my father left us in the state of Florida. Being that one sister is set as executor, do we actually share in 1/3? As to say, Elder sister has final say, second sister and she gang up on third sister, so sister three has no rights.?
Is that the equation?
If I've used this home as a primary residence for the past ten years , off and on. I have utility bills that come in my name to prove it.
Can these two evil sisters just kick me out?
As a side note, she's coming to finish packing up everything Dad ever owned and slide outta town. Again.
What rights do I have to stop her from raping the house?
I have an 91 yo Uncle who lives in the rear apt. and has for ten years.
This will not sit well with him.
The question is this: Can she sign a contract to someone else to rent it, if I say I'm living there? If all 3 are not in agreement? Does my say count for ANYTHING?
Welcome Hudzzon.

Being the executor, your elder sister has the right to administer the Will. But this doesn't mean that the non-executors don't have rights on property. I mean, the elder sister cannot take away your share of property until and unless you sign it over to her. The elder sister can offer her part of the property for rent but not the share of interest transferred to your third sister and you.

Thanks.
