SHOULD WE HAVE SON PAY OFF OUR MORTGAGE?

Posted on: 24th Aug, 2009 01:00 pm
OUR SON WANTS TO PAY OFF OUR MORTGAGE AND THEN HAVE BOTH OF OUR NAMES ON THE MORTGAGE DEED.
IS THIS A GOOD IDEA. HE SAID WE COULD LIVE HERE UNTIL WE DIE.
JON KELLY

That would be a person decision.

All depends on how is your relation with yoru son and how much your trsy him

Good luck and feel free to ask

Hi JON!

Welcome to forums!

I guess you are speaking about the property deed. Once the mortgage is paid off, you would receive a mortgage release certificate from the lender. If the mortgage is in your name, then I guess your name is already on the property deed. Thus, your son does not need to add your names again to the property deed.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
