Nova Scotia resident; how to see credit score?

Posted on: 02nd Nov, 2006 02:56 am
Hi, I wanted to see my credit score recently but I have come to know that FICO score is available to all Canadian residents except those of Nova Scotia. Is it so? I am from Nova scotia and I am really confused, what's the reason why can't people living in Nova cannot see their scores.
Hi Mourin,

Nova Scotia residents are not allowed by the provincial government to view their credit scores and reports online. By the law, these agencies will mail you a free copy of your credit report on a yearly basis. But the report sent by mail does not have the credit score. In order to get the score and report, you need to contact the credit reporting agencies – Equifax, TransUnion and Northern Credit Bureau. You will get the contact address of these agencies from the website of the Financial Consumer agency of Canada.

Thanks,

Sarah
