Adding my spouse to the deed for my house

Posted on: 29th Dec, 2009 12:42 pm
My husband of 2 years has owned our home for several years and he wants to add me to the deed. What is the best form to use to do this? Quitclaim deed or interspousal Transfer Grant Deed?
Hi debbietedsen!

Welcome to forums!

Your husband can use a quit claim deed in order to add your name to the property deed. He can contact a real estate attorney and get the deed drafted from him. However, there are sample quit claim deed forms available online. Your husband can get hold of these forms and add your name to the property deed.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
