Quit claim deed

is it too late to get a quit claim deed? my ex-wife and i got divorced and she got the house as part of the divorce settlement, but unfortunately, i didnot do a quit claim deed. she defaulted on the loan and now the bank is coming after me with a vengeance....can i still get a quit claim deed, or is it too late?

zackie
you cannot remove yourself from a mortgage via a quit claim deed. your wife would've had to refinance the mortgage in her name only in order to have you removed from the loan. if you would have deeded the property to her using a quit claim deed, you would still be responsible for the mortgage loan.

In my opinion , If this case settled by court then now its too late sign a quite claim deed.
Get advice of your attorney to know your next options as your situation.

Thanks & Regards.
