I purchased a home in 2008 with my now X. He cheated on me after we got the home and he became abusive so I left. I am the person who put up all the monies and I purchased all new furniture at the time. Well when I left I has no where to go and I was goign to get the furniture later but I couldnt. I paid the morgtage for 5 months after I left while I worked out a loan program to get it in his name and he would not work with me. Nnow he has destroyed my creidt and he is finally ready to do something but he wantes me off the tital and not the morgtage (not happening).....any advice?

If your name is removed from the title, then you can't claim ownership in that property but you will be liable for the mortgage payments as your name is on the docs. So, you should let him know that you will only remove your name from the property title when he refinances or assumes the loan in his name.

James Hogg is correct. You shouldn't remove your name from the title immediately. Even if he forces you to remove your name, you can ask him to buy you out thereby offering you a certain sum of money.
