Will I be able to refinance alone

Posted on: 08th Apr, 2009 06:54 am
I am in the early stages of a divorce. When it comes time to refinance to split the equity, will I even be able to do so when my income is significantly smaller than my spouse? What do others do in this situation? I have a high credit score but unsure about the income. Can I get a cosigner if I need one? Thank you.
Hi jmgriffin. How much is the house ur trying to refi? How much money do you make? And yes you can get a cosigner if needed.

your income is going to be pretty tight if you wish to qualify for a refinance at $154000. a cosigner is certainly a possibility, but you'll have to seek out an fha loan (rates are good and reasonably comparable with conforming rates). with good credit and a quality cosigner, you're probably in good shape.
