Whats taking sooooo long

we started the refinance process in early june 2010 with wells fargo and still to this date keep hearing the same excuse of how backed up there underwirters are. should i after all this time and lack of communication on there part pack it in with them and look elsewhere? they never once called me for an update or any news for that matter...i had to make all the phone calls and they acted like i was bothering them because they had no updated info. to give me. whats the hold-up i would ask and keep getting the same response...we are backed up as interest rates are at an all time low so understand this may take some time.
please give me some advice as im totally disappointed in wells fargo and there way of handling my refinance.
