What is a non-obligatory form ?

Posted on: 14th Oct, 2008 09:04 pm
we took out a second mortgage and the lender wants me to sign a non-obligatory form because my name is not on the deed. should i sign this and should i put my name on the deed ? how would i go about putting my nameon the deed? we live in tn.
thanks
Hi zookeeper,

Welcome to forums.

The lender wants to make sure that you are not the primary borrower of the loan. The payments of the dues rests with the primary borrower. If you add your name to the deed, then you will not require to sign the deed. If you want to add your name to the title of the property, you can sign a quitclaim deed and notarize and file it in the county recorder's office.

Thanks.
