ch 7 bankruptcy deed still on my husband name

My husband filed bankruptcy in 2009 and was discharged in same year. The house was intended to reaffirm, however, my husband went deploy that same year and we were never explained that we need to contact the bank to reaffirm the loan. We continued making the payments for this house, but my husband found out that the payments that we were doing to the loan were never reported to the his credit this happen in 2010. When he called the bank they told him that the house was included on the bankruptcy, and was never reaffirmed. A few month later we were struggling paying the mortgage, and we contacted the bank again and they just simply told us that we can move and leave the keys at the house. We moved from the house in 2011. Now it's been 7 years since his bankruptcy was discharged, and we tried to buy another house, during the process we found out that the even though in the credit report has zero balance that mortgage loan, the deed is still under my husband name. Apparently they had started a foreclosure in 2014, but now the bank states that for them to proceed to foreclosure he needs to sign a document ( soldiers relief act; to waive his rights to this act) and they can continue with the foreclosure.

Funny thing when we contacted VA for the second home that we tried to buy this year, they approved the VA certificate... But we are struggling with this bank and the way the process things, and no lender will work with us even though we have [me 740 and him 713] credit score and only one debt ( a small personal loan)

How we can get this fix this? and in somehow what alternatives we have?
