I had filed for chapter 7, its been quite some time now and waiting for the final discharge. The case is pending in court. A friend suggested converting to chapter 13. is it possible?

If you file Chapter 7 and reaffirm the mortgage, then you will be able to keep the home. Once you reaffirm the mortgage, you will become personally liable for the mortgage payments.If you keep on making the mortgage payments, you will be able to qualify for a loan.
