can naca help me obtain a fha-hamp modification. i have tried on my own and still in review since june 29, 2010. no forecloser yet. I have had 2 modifications and made 2 or 3 payments, and then my job would end as I did temporary accounting work. my history shows me communicating with bank of america mortgage so they know I care and want to save my home.

Hi valerie,

NACA can help you in negotiating with your lender and help you in getting a HAMP modification. You will have to contact NACA for the same. However, you may directly contact with the lender and apply for a HAMP modification.

Valerie, what you're doing now is probably sufficient. I don't know that NACA would be able to help you more than what's happening now. If you qualify for HAMP, they'll give it to you. Otherwise, these lenders have scads of alternative methods by which to get you modified. As you've come to recognize, they are largely temporary, but NACA can't persuade someone to grant you what you want if your income/job aren't stable. I know nobody's job these days is stable, but that's how the world of modifications is at this point.

Well, I''m going to the L.A. Convention center this weekend to see what NACA can do for me. I''ve applied & been denied 4 times w/Chase Bank (originally Washington Mutual) for a HAMP mod. 1st time they said they lost the paper & to re-apply, 2nd time they said the didn''t have enough documentation (a lie, because I sent in what they requested 2 & 3 times), 3rd time because they said I didn''t have a net negative 20% change in my income since I got the loan in 2007 (another lie....I had then send me a copy of the loan docs & it clearly stated my income was $8000 a month back then, but it now $5400 a month). The 4th time (just a month ago) they said Freddie Mac wont authorize the mod because I''m not dead, my spouse isn''t dead or I''m not disabled or sick. Nice huh? Scumbags. Well....I''ve never been late in paying my mortgage, but I''ve sacrificed everything I could sacrifice. Now I''m going to be underwater here pretty soon if I don''t get something done. Either a loan mod or a better rate than 5.5%. I''ll post what my experience was. Thanks!

hello forum,

can someone tell me if naca can help me refinance after my bankruptcy? i filed for bankruptcy in 2007, and have been paying my mortgage on time every month since then, actually, on time since i've had the loan. my loan was sold to citibank from flagstar in 2005, and ever since then i have had problems with citibank.

after i filed for bankruptcy in 2007, citibank has treated me like a second class citizen. i want to refinance with a different bank. can naca help to do that? my current rate is 7.125% thanks.

I am behind on my payments beacaeu my husband was laid off but is now working full time Bank of america now tells us that we do not make enough for a modification. Can NACA help and if so, does this stop the foreclosure process? I contact Bank of America almost every week and have been making more than my payments now to show I am trying to get caught up.

hi!

welcome to forums!

to anthony,

you cannot refinance a mortgage immediately after a bankruptcy filing. even naca will not be able to help you in this regard. you will have to wait for at least 2 years in order to refinance your mortgage after bankruptcy filing.

to guest,

you can contact naca and ask them to negotiate with your lender so that you can get a loan modification which will help you in stopping foreclosure. if the lender is convinced by naca's request, then it will help you in saving your property.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I am with Bank of America and have been trying to get a loan mod. I was denied and am now in the process of appealing. During the "trial period" the bank lowered our payment, which was workable with our income that was cut in half from when we purchased the home. But then when we got denied for the loan modification, the bank then declared that we defaulted and are now five payements behind. I didn't realized when we were in this trial period that if they denied us, we would be in default. So we sent in new paperwork for the appeal and then they said to just wait for them to contact us. In the meantime, since we are in default we don't feel we should keep giving the bank money if we are possibly going to get foreclosed on because we cannot make a full payment of $2000.00. It sounds like from all of the comments, that NACA can help. Can anyone tell me how long NACA takes. I would appreciate any comments on our situation!
