My husband has been receving calls from a law firm names evans law in reference to a 200 loan he received with payday loan yes. We reside in tn. They keep calling harrassing and threatening to have him locked up. The number i have for evans law in buffalo ny is 716-685-8470.

Pay them what you barrowed and tell them you know thier illegal and you have contacted the authorities. Google them with the word illegal and you will find serveral sites confirming all of this. I went directly to my bank and changed my account number, apparently people even report they'll take money out in the future for no reason. They are crooks, bottom line, and they can't even report you to a collection agency.
They're not quite illegal Jim...they are quite legal in most states, in fact. Does that mean they're good places to borrow money? No, not at all. I urge anyone to avoid payday lenders at all costs - too many horror stories have been written on this site for me to feel any other way.
