How to use the Lady Bird Deed

Posted on: 20th Aug, 2008 10:35 pm
Hi folks, a quick question since I am new to your forums.

I know a lady who is widowed. She has no surviving children. She is in very poor health with hospice having been called and she does not have a will. She wants to pass the house to me though I am not a direct heir or legalee and I am wondering if it can be done with the Lady Bird?
Hi Edward.

Welcome to the forum.

She can use a ladybird deed to transfer the property to you so that you can avoid the property process but as she is now in Medical care I think you should consult with an attorney whether she can use the ladybird deed and also get the Medicaid facility. Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry
