Geneva Roth Capital Inc. which is also known as Loan Point USA ("http://www.loanpointusa.com/" ) is a payday loan company that carries out its own collections. Based at Utah, the company is reported to be a loan shark by several consumers who have shared their experience with the company in our forums.

There have been several complaints so far from customers regarding illegal activities of Geneva Roth. Here's why debtors feel that Geneva Roth is a loan shark:
  • The company often over charges its customers and withdraws money from their accounts repeatedly even after the loan payment is over.
  • The company also keeps changing its contact information due to which customers make repeated calls but fail to get any response from Geneva Roth.
  • Geneva Roth somehow gets access to bank accounts not related to the loan and debits money from such accounts.
  • Even if consumers do not apply for Geneva Roth loans, the company somehow gets access to their accounts and forcefully deposit loan funds without even sending any paper agreement to the debtor.
If you are in problem while dealing with the company or if you need to make an enquiry on your payment, loan balance etc, talk to a customer representative at the Geneva Roth toll free number.

In case you don't get any response from the company, or if they continue with their illegal activities, file a complaint with the FTC, BBB or your State attorney General. And if you'd like to share your experience with Geneva Roth - good or bad, feel free to post it below.

Hi Sally!

I have heard a large number of people complaining about similar issues in this community. You can immediately file complain with the state attorney general so that legal steps can be taken against them. You can check the following link for the FTC complaint form:

Thanks

I was unemployed for almost a year. I had been at my new job for only 6 months when a lot of unexpected expenses came up. I was desperate. They offered me $500.00 so I took it. I knew the fee would be $150.00. The website I was directed to register on would not let me register. Also the phone number for the contact person I was given went right to voicemail. The message said she "was promoted" and would not be checking the messages. Pressing 0 disconnected me.
After several $150.00 payments were taken from my account I put a stop payment on the ACH withdrawal. It stopped them for a little over a week. Then they tried $149.99 and got it. I tried to close my account but my bank tells me they will still be able to withdraw funds!!!
If they get the $149.99 tomorrow that will be $600.00 in fees for a $500.00 loan.
Scum! I hate them!

Hi SICK!

I have seen a lot of people complaining about this company. I would suggest that from next time onwards whenever you are dealing with a lender, you should search his whereabouts and also read the testimonials of other borrowers. This will help you to get a clear idea about the person and the company both.

Thanks.

I borrowed a $400.00 loan from these people I was under the impression I would be paying $720.00 back to them. Now I received the loan on 06/04/08 and it is now 10/28/08 and they are still deducting $120.00 from my bank account as we speak. I cannot get in touch with them and I cannot stop the deductions? I have paid back $1080.00 for a $400.00 loan I could have went to a neighborhood loanshark who would have charged less! Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Hi Barb-Philly!

You can contact the bank and ask them to block your account so that they are unable to debit anything from your account. Apart from this, you should immediately file a complaint with the State Attorney General so that legal actions can be taken against them.

Thanks,

Jerry
